What are HTML Web Templates?

Web templates and website templates are the same thing. An HTML web template may be built using HTML or XHTML and may include CSS or Javascript code. PHP and ASP templates in most cases will include either HTML or XHTML code. HTML 4.01 is the most current and popular version of HTML, however a website can be built in any version of HTML. HTML5 is currently being developed, however, this version of HTML is not supported in all browsers and still lacks many of the features that can be found in HTML 4.01. All Allwebco templates are built using HTML 4.01.

HTML Definition

In essence, HTML is used to allow a plain text file to display a formatted website with text, images, scripts, animations, forms and other website elements. HTML is the language used by web browsers to dynamically format and display web pages.

HTML, which stands for "HyperText Markup Language", is a set of codes that can be inserted into text files to indicate special typefaces, inserted images, and links to other hypertext documents. HTML allows for images and objects to be embedded and can be used to create interactive forms. Objects can be embedded using Javascript or HTML specific tags like the "embed" or "object" tag. The page you are currently reading is built using HTML code. HTML is not a compiled program but is instead plain text. This is what allows for the flexibility in an HTML website template. HTML Templates and CSS

CSS code, or CSS styles, which stands for "Cascading Style Sheets", can be included in any website. CSS is used to define fonts, colors, backgrounds, spacing, object widths and heights, button formatting, text justification and other design elements of a webpage. A website can not be built using only CSS. CSS is the code used to format the style of an HTML or XHTML website. CSS code can be either included in a webpage with the HTML code, or it can be in an externally linked CSS style sheet file. All Allwebco templates include a global external CSS stylesheet to define design formatting of the HTML web templates.

HTML Templates and Javascript

Javascript is also written as a plain text language. Javascript may be included in HTML pages along with web template HTML code, or it may be written in externally linked plain text .js "include" files. Javascript is primarily used in the form of "client-side" Javascript, implemented as part of a web browser in order to provide enhanced user interfaces and dynamic websites.

HTML Templates and Flash Animation

Flash animation is a compiled program embedded in HTML and XHTML website templates to display animation and movement and also "Rich Internet Applications". It also supports streaming of audio and video. It is a popular program created by Macromedia Corporation which is currently owned by Adobe Systems. Although Flash is the most popular and respected animation software available, it is not supported by some companies such as Apple Computer, Inc., makers of iPod and iPad, due to their disputes with Adobe Systems Incorporated makers of Flash software.

The latest updated Allwebco templates include Javascript code for better viewing on iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and other mobile devices. Animated Flash areas will display a non-Flash image you select in mobiles and browsers that do not support Flash.
