Google AdSense Monetization

Building a Google AdSense Website

Google AdSense is a web based program that allows anyone to earn money by adding pay-per-click (PPC) advertisements, as text links and images, on their website. The ads, and ad content, are generated by Google and will automatically display ads relevant to the text content of your website. Google tracks the number of clicks and will keep a total of the earnings in your account. Read more in AdSense support.

Order All You Need In One Step: We have many AdSense ready and ad portal designs available with spots for ads already configured in the layout. Order your domain, hosting and any template in one step by viewing our website selection. When you find a design you like, click the "order" button and select to "order with hosting". You can choose your domain name and hosting options during the process.

The web hosting Order Website Hosting
Any new website will need space on the web to be displayed to the Internet public. We offer many different hosting options for different types of website setup projects. Free search engine submission is included.

Web Page Building Creating Web Pages
Websites need webpages and web pages will be setup using HTML code for the text and tags and a css style file for the fonts, layout and colors. You can create wepages using any HTML editor or you can optionally start your site using a web template. Web templates are pre-built websites that you plug your content and images into to build your website. Webpages are then FTP uploaded to your hosting area for display on the web. Advertising and banner ads are added directly to the HTML pages.

Once your site is edited and uploaded, you will want to check your webpages on as many mobile devices, tablets, and computer types as you have available. A variety of web browsers have become popular and different browser software may cause a site to appear differently when viewed on different devices.

Some popular devices and browsers to consider are: PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone, and Blackberry, plus IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera browsers.

What is Google AdSense? Back to Top
A website enabled program owned and operated by Google Inc. The program allows website publishers who sign up for the AdSense program to display (serve) text, image, video, and / or other interactive media adverts on their websites. Advertisements are administered, and maintained by Google and are intended to generate revenue for members on a pay per-click basis. For more info and to sign up, go to Google AdSense.

How AdSense Sets the Ad Content Back to Top
For the AdSense program to decide what content is relevant to the website ads are placed on, text articles, image alt tags, domain name and webpage names are all read by the program. The program then decides the specific ads that should be placed on the site. The program is automatic and members are not required to set the content for the ads.

Include plenty of text content and articles related to your website theme, and check that all links on your webpages are working.

Site Content & Getting Clicks
Although you can setup a website, place ads on it to generate some extra income, the most important factor is getting visitors on your site to click on your ads. So you need to decide on a theme for your website before you start. Will it be about cooking, car repair, choosing the right college, or restaurants in your area? It's best to choose something you're familiar with and add a number of articles on your website. Keep in mind that with some themes there will be a lot of competition to rank high at Google. Cooking sites are one example of a very difficult site to get well listed with.

A couple of options, to avoid so much search engine ranking competition, is to make your site target your location, listing towns or cities in your area on your webpages. Another option is a more specific or targeted theme. Say for example, Cooking using a Wok, or car repair for Dodge Chargers. See SEO support for more tips.

Setting Up Ads On Mobile Back to Top
The Google ad program automatically detects the type of mobile device that is viewing your website and will deliver compatible ads taking into consideration if this is a full feature smartphone or an older device. You can generate "responsive" ads for mobile in your account login. The delivered advertisements will then be specifically designed for that device. Also see AdSense for mobile at Google.

Setup Tip: Use an ad unit that fits your mobile optimized site, or optionally choose to create a responsive ad.

Other Ad and Affiliate Programs Back to Top
You can include banner and text ads, as well as affiliate links on the same website you are using AdSense on. In this case you should make sure you have the other ads spaced apart from the Google ads so no relationship appears between the adverts and also so they maintain a separate space in pixels.

Allwebco pre-built portal websites allow for any type of ad, banner, image, text, or affiliate link to be added to any of the pages.

Placing the Ads On Your Webpages Back to Top
Google AdSense code should only be added directly to your HTML, ASP or PHP pages. Ad code should not be added to .js files or in embedded iFrame pages. You can add the code to PHP "include" files because these files actually write the code into your webpages. If you are using a site builder, refer to the help included with your provider. More details at Google support.

How Many Ads Can Be Included On Each Page? Back to Top
You can include up to three AdSense for content ads, three link units and two search boxes per webpage for a total of eight items. See also Ad placement policies at Google for the latest info.

Responsive Cross-Device Compatibility Back to Top
When creating any revenue generating website, your ads need to include the capability to display on all popular mobile devices, tablets and smartphones, as well as on PC and Mac. Allwebco offers responsive for mobile Google AdSense designs plus mobile optimized mobi-Hybrid® websites that can have advert and affiliate programs added to the pages.

Responsive web design allows for the template webpages to respond or "flex" to fit all device display screens. In your Google AdSense login there is an option to generate responsive adverts. Using this type of design and responsive ads will allow your site to conform automatically for desktop, laptop, tablet and smartphones (iPhone, Android, etc). For more info see What are Responsive Web Templates.

About HTML Website Templates
HTML web templates are built using plain text webpages and other files (CSS and Javascript) for styles and dynamic animation elements. Professional web developers and also novice webmasters can plug-in their text and image content into the pre-built webpages to build a website. Created with either HTML5 or HTML 4.01 code for high browser, device and tablet compatibility, all Allwebco template designs are complete websites that can be used for both business and personal web development. More info can be found on the what are website templates support page.

HTML stands for "HyperText Markup Language". HTML is a group of pre-set codes added to plain text files to display different typefaces, image files, hyperlinks, HTML5 video or YouTube and other website elements. Objects are embedded into the webpages to allow for an interactive user website experience. HTML is not a "compiled" program but rather is plain text files with the rendering code built right into web browser software.

Allwebco web templates are designed using HTML and CSS code for styles, colors and layout. Javascript, jQuery is used to display dynamic image and text animation as well as to allow for global headers, footers, sidebars and menus. See also HTML at Wikipedia or W3C.
